Youth Leader Taitusi Savou told Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum at the National Youth Dialogue on Violence Against Women today that he has lost faith in Fiji’s criminal justice system.
Savou told Sayed-Khaiyum that his alleged assault case disappeared due to certain reasons at the Totogo Police Station in 2013.
He claims that he was sexually assaulted by a work mate during working hours while being employed at a multinational company at Walu Bay in 2013.
Savou says police officers at the Totogo Police Station told him the court had closed his case although no one had been charged.
He then said that he has emails and recorded conversations with the police officers.
Savou says he feels betrayed by the police.
The Acting Prime Minister says he will try and address the issue through his office.
He says they have dealt with a lot of these types of issues in the past.
