Several schools in Ra and Koro to be rebuilt by Australian Government

Several schools in Ra and on Koro Island will be rebuilt by the Australian Government as part of its contribution to Fiji’s recovery and reconstruction following Tropical Cyclone Winston.

Australia’s Minister for International Development and the Pacific, Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells, made the announcement while visiting Vatukacevaceva Village School today.

Fierravanti-Wells says Vatuka-cevaceva Village School, is one of the schools that will be rebuilt.

She says rebuilding schools is an important part of rebuilding lives and bringing stability back to a community.

The Australian Minister says that is what good friends and neighbours do in times of need.

The Australian Government will work closely with the Fijian Government to ensure that structures are disability-inclusive and resilient to future disasters. 

Minister for Education Dr. Mahendra Reddy thanked Australia for its support and says that Fijians will always remember this.
