Seruiratu worried about continuous increase in illegal drug activities locally

Minister for Defence and National Security Inia Seruiratu says that there is a worry with the continuous increase in illegal drug activities locally.

Seruiratu highlighted this following his first official visit to the RFMF as Minister responsible for Defence and National Security.

The Minister says for the past few years the increase in illicit drug arrests signifies the effective works law enforcement and national security agencies are doing.

He adds his Ministry does not take that lightly and they are looking into the necessary measures that will need to be undertaken to curb the increase in drug problems in the country.

The Minister is pleading with people and communities to cooperate with law enforcement agencies to combat drug issues.

Seruiratu was in meetings with high ranked officers from the RFMF and Fiji Navy yesterday and was also in a meeting with the Fiji Police Force last week.
