Indonesia’s Centre of Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation has warned that seismic activity ripping through Mount Agung suggests lava is pushing towards the crater.
Head of Centre of Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation, Gede Suantika says they calculate it based on the monitoring results of satellite images of seismic recording data, deformation and geochemistry.
The findings suggest that dangerous lava is filling the volcano, threatening to reach a critical phase.
Experts are warning that an imminent eruption is at hand and that the hot lava will certainly spill over to the slopes.
The Center recorded intense tremors rocking the volatile volcano yesterday.
It says continuous earthquake for 22 minutes indicates the addition of lava supply to the crater wall continues.
