Miss Lautoka Market Vendors Association Seini Vukivuki was crowned Miss Sugar 2018 and Miss Personality at the Vodafone Sugar Festival last night.
She was crowned by Minister for Local Government Parveen Bala.
In an emotional winning speech, Vukivuki thanked her family for their support and said she was ready to represent Lautoka at the Miss Fiji Pageant.
Vukivuki had said that she does not want Fiji to be known for being an unhealthy nation.
The 20‑year‑old believes that young peoples’ tendency to binge on junk food when studying is an attributing factor to the rise of NCD’s and hopes to encourage young people to turn to healthier alternatives.
The 1st runner up was Miss Lautoka City Council Payal Prasad and 2nd runner up was Miss Wilderness Amusement and Rides Doreen Divya.
Prasad was also crowned Miss Charity, won the Best Talent Award and the Best Research Award.
As Miss Sugar 2018, Seini Vukivuki will Lautoka in the Miss Fiji Pageant next month.
She will join the five contestants that have already been confirmed for the Miss Fiji Pageant.
They include Miss Suva Jessica Fong, Miss Nadi Kirisitiana Uluwai, Miss Nausori Natasha Lal, Miss Nasinu Esther Vateitei and Miss Labasa Naima Shazmeen.
