Search continues for 4 people drifting in a fibre glass boat

Police have confirmed that the search continues for 4 people that are drifting in a fibre glass boat between Levuka and Gau.

Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro has confirmed that the Fiji Navy is assisting with the search this morning.

The boat left Gau island on Sunday carrying an injured person with Dr Mika Lutumailagi of Qarani Health Centre and a nurse.

Police Search and Rescue have confirmed that upon returning at 10pm Sunday night the 4 people in the boat ran out of fuel and started drifting.

Mariners and people living along the coastal lines are requested to keep a look out and report any sighting to police search and Rescue Centre on 3318358 or Maritime Surveillance on 3315380.
