School heads in the Ba and Ra education districts has been advised by the Education Ministry to close the school if roads and bridges to the school are not accessible, causing any threat.
In a statement the Ministry says that teachers and parents who live in affected areas are advised to closely monitor the weather situation.
The Education Ministry says that all school heads and school managements are also requested to accommodate evacuees who may turn up to their school for refuge.
The Ministry of Education is advising parents, teachers and children to move cautiously during this wet weather affecting most parts of Fiji.
It adds that should parents, teachers and students find the weather threatening, they need to secure refuge for safety and not report to school for duty and class.
