Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has reassured farmers that the government will be setting up cooling plants around the country where they can keep their produce.
This was after a man raised concern on the increasing price of dalo in the local and export market.
Sayed-Khaiyum says that government is aware of the fact that middleman are taking advantage of the prices of dalo therefore the government has announced an allocation for setting up cooling plants in Sigatoka, Ba and other areas around the country.
He adds that even if farmers are not able to sell their produce, it can be stored for later without leaving it to rot.
