The Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem has confirmed that the Fijian Elections Office has this week texted every registered voter that has provided them with their voter card numbers, the polling venue where the voter is registered to vote.
Saneem has also clarified that in order to ensure that the correct voter gets the information, the voter’s name and details is also included in the text message.
Saneem again insists that people text their voter identification number to 1500 if they feel that they receive the wrong detail from 1501.
Earlier concerns were raised that people were receiving text messages from the number 1501 of names and voter details that are not their own.
The Supervisor of Elections says that this detail has been updated in the voters detail in their system and voters can access the changes by sending their voter identification number via text or toll free 1500.
