The Sahyadri Speciality Pacific Hospital Limited in Fiji has conducted a total of 29 surgeries this month.
This was confirmed by the hospital Director Manu Munibhargav who says that they have completed 22 open heart surgeries.
Munibhargav says they have also conducted five joint replacement surgeries in Lautoka this month.
He says apart from that, they have also done a tissue valve replacement surgery on a 75-year-old patient who was referred from Australia and one spine fixation surgery.
The Director says three patients came at the end of the surgery so they are rostered for the next surgery trip which will be held in August.
Munibhargav says there is a need and a requirement for these surgeries but there are also practical difficulties that holds back surgeries.
He says all the patients that have undergone surgeries for this months are recovering well.
