More than 300 people gathered at the Namoli village hall in Lautoka to be part of the celebration in the opening of the Social Democratic Liberal Party new office in Lautoka yesterday.
SODELPA leader Ro Teimumu Kepa said she acknowledged the presence of some chiefs including the Turaga Tui Vuda Ratu Eparama Kitione Tavaiqia and Tui Vitogo Ratu Viliame Sovasova.
Former Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase and wife Leba were amongst the 100 supporters who marched from Shirley Park to Namoli village, led by the St Thomas Band.
Also present were proposed SODELPA candidates Mick Beddoes, Viliame Satala, George Shiu Raj and Ratu Jone Kubuabola.
Also at the gathering were South Sydney Rabbitohs rugby league players Lote Tuqiri and Apisai Koroisau.
