FijiFirst Leader Voreqe Bainimarama said that the Social Democratic Liberal Party was allegedly spreading lies in Kadavu about land not being given back to the itaukei.
Speaking to more than 1,000 people at the FijiFirst Fun Day which was held at Syria Park in Nausori, FijiFirst Leader Voreqe Bainimarama said that he had to go and set ideas straight with the people of Kadavu during his visit this week.
He said in his government’s eight years of service it has never taken itaukei land without the permission of the landowners.
Bainimarama also claimed that SODELPA is preaching to people that if Fiji has a prime minister who is not itaukei the issue of selling itaukei land could be an open issue in parliament.
He said that the lies which SODELPA is saying will only result in people getting wrong ideas and making wrong choices.
Meanwhile, the General Secretary of the Social Democratic Liberal Party Pio Tabaiwalu has responded to comments made by the FijiFirst Leader Voreqe Bainimarama.
Tabaiwalu said that the FijiFirst Leader should stop making claims against SODELPA as everything is outlined in their manifesto.
SODELPA has also questioned why the FijiFirst Party is talking on issues when they do not have a manifesto.
Tabaiwalu added that SODELPA will let the people of Fiji decide who they want as their next government.
