SODELPA MP Niko Nawaikula facing charge of careless driving

SODELPA MP and lawyer Niko Nawaikula is facing a charge of careless driving in the Suva Magistrates Court.

The case was supposed to be called for plea today but it has been adjourned to 27th March.

Nawaikula is charged with one count of careless driving and one count of failure to comply with requirements following an accident.

He was questioned and charged at the Nabua Police Station on 15th June last year.

Nawaikula allegedly hit a vehicle along Ratu Mara Road in Nabua on 31st May last year.

The incident happened at around 8 o'clock in the morning.

Following the accident, Nawaikula also allegedly took off and failed to check for the damage to the complainant's vehicle.

It was then reported to Police.

Nawaikula is representing himself in this case and he is out on bail.
