Serious concerns were raised by motorists this morning about a major traffic jam along Rodwell Road that was caused by Suva City Council personnel putting up a banner at around 8.30am in the middle of peak hour traffic.
Eyewitnesses confirmed to Fijivillage that two trucks had blocked two lanes near the Suva market and motorists were given way on a single lane along Rodwell Road which is the main point of entry into the City.
The work that could have been done outside peak hour traffic period to avoid further road congestion backed up traffic as far as the Walu Bay roundabout coming into Rodwell Road up until the Suva Market.
When contacted by Fijivillage, the Suva City Council was not aware of the incident however, they have confirmed that they are looking into the issue.
