The military consignment recently received by the RFMF is worth $19 million which is an aid from Russia.
Minister for Defence Timoci Natuva revealed this in Parliament yesterday.
Opposition Whip Isoa Tikoca says the military consignment created a lot of concern for the people and he asks why this was not made known to the members of Parliament.
Natuva then said that shifting arms and ammunition across the world goes through a safety process.
He says they do not have to go around and tell people that Fiji is receiving arms and ammunition.
Opposition MP Salote Radrodro then asked the Minister why this aid was not listed in the 2016 National Budget under aid in kind.
She says any aid should be listed in the budget.
Natuva says the finalization of the shipment was made after the publication of the 2016 National Budget.
