Overall Best Apprentice of the Year 2016, 24-year-old Jolame Rokoduru

Graduation day is filled with many sentiments, because it is also the day to reflect on how well we are trained.

These were the words of the Overall Best Apprentice of the Year 2016, 24-year-old Jolame Rokoduru during the Fiji National University Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony at Novotel, Lami.

Rokoduru who graduated with Plant Maintenance Engineering says it was a dream for many of them to make it that far since they have been waiting patiently to for this moment for 3 to 4 years.

He was amongst the 105 graduated who were honored with their tremendous efforts.

FNU Vice Chancellor Professor Nigel Heleay says Apprenticeship training is a systematic programme of on-the-job, practical training with employers at their work sites.

Heleay says the graduates will be able to appreciate working for small and medium sized businesses to gain the same recognition as their peers at large companies.

While congratulating the graduates Education Minister Mahendra Reddy says their persistence and hard work has been well rewarded in spite of many distractions.

Meanwhile Micheal Kava who graduated with Electrical Fitter Mechanic was the first runner-up Best Apprentice of the Year 2016, while second runner up was awarded to Neeraj Narayan who graduated as a Cook.
