Roko Tui Kadavu concerned about marijuana planting

The Kadavu Provincial Council is calling on farmers who are planting marijuana to surrender themselves because no one is above the law.

Speaking from his office in Tavuki, Roko Tui Kadavu Eroni Vunisa said he has acknowledged the efforts made by the Police after they uprooted 754 plants believed to be marijuana from two farms on the island of Kadavu.

Vunisa said in the last provincial council in October last year, the nine chiefs and the members of the council asked the Police to conduct raids on the island.

Vunisa said it is a major concern for the people of Kadavu to hear their own men are planting marijuana in their farms.
