The Fiji Roads Authority has confirmed that a number of roads in Rakiraki, Korovou and Naqali are closed to all traffic due to flooding.
The roads which are closed in Rakiraki are Nasau/Lawaki road, Lau road, Nausori road, Narara, Korotale, Katudrau, Burenitu, Dreketi, Vunikavikaloa, Barotu and Nailuva road.
The roads that are closed in Korovou include Dawasamu, Nasaibitu, Wairua Settlement road and Dawakoto road while Lomaivuna road, Nabukaluka to Delailasakau road, Vatulili road and Navulo-kani road are closed in Naqali.
Meanwhile, a heavy rain warning remains in force for Eastern parts of Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti group.
A strong wind warning remains in force for land areas of Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lomaiviti and Lau group and nearby smaller Islands.
A flood alert remains in force for low lying areas and small streams adjacent to major rivers for Eastern Vanua Levu and Taveuni.
The Nadi Weather Office says that a shallow low pressure system lies slow moving just to the Southwest of Viti Levu and is expected to move over and exit the Southern Lau waters tonight.
Associated active trough of low pressure with rain and strong winds continue to affect Fiji and is expected to affect the group till tomorrow.
