Fiji Roads Authority Acting CEO Robert Sen has confirmed that FRA is still on track to have the road reinstated by the end of next week.
Fijivillage had raised concerns with amount of time taken with resealing works along Ratu Mara Road in front of RSMS that contributes greatly to traffic.
Sen has highlighted that there were 2 more leaks detected last weekend and their contractors had to stop the backfilling work.
He adds that FRA is closely working with the Water Authority of Fiji who have worked to contain the leaks.
The Fiji Roads Authority is also requesting for the public’s understanding as FRA contractors have continued to backfill the area delicately to minimize vibrations and not to cause more harm to the infrastructure.
FRA says that only two lanes are open to traffic, the other two lanes will remain closed until the reinstatement works are completed at the end of this month if the weather permits.
FRA is also urging motorists to adhere to the speed limit and drive with extra care and attention whilst these important works are being undertaken.
