Opposition Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa has said although the government has allocated money for the rehabilitation works post Cyclone Winston, they are still not satisfied with the result as the government did not mention the amount raised as donations locally and internationally.
The government allocated $207.9 million for rehabilitation works post Cyclone Winston.
Kepa said that they have been asking the government to give them figures on how much the people of Fiji have raised as donations and how much people have raised for donations overseas and four months after the cyclone, they have not received any figures yet.
She added that they have some issues with the bills mentioned during the National Budget announcement.
When questioned on the issue raised by Ro Teimumu on the donations received, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum highlighted that they have already spoken about it.
The National Budget supplement highlights the sectoral distribution of aid-in-kind for the 2016/2017 financial year.
That stands at $135.8 million.
The total cash grants amount to $34.6 million.
Meanwhile, Kepa agrees with the government increasing doctors’ salaries as she said that the doctors are usually over worked.
