Leader of the Opposition Ro Teimumu Kepa

The Leader of the Opposition Ro Teimumu Kepa says the public transport users are going through a state of confusion, chaos, and delay.

Ro Teimumu is calling on the government to review its implementation schedule and logistics to keep Fiji, its people and the national economy moving.

The Opposition Leader has cited cases of Vodafone outlets running out of bus e‑cards, drivers refusing school children travel with student bus vouchers, senior citizens suffering from the use of their bus cards and labourers without bus e‑cards stranded on the road sides.

She said the delay in the bus service to many parts of Fiji yesterday morning was a clear sign that the bus companies were also not prepared for the change and needed further time.

Ro Teimumu said that what they should have done is to trial it out in a smaller area such as Nausori before nationwide implementation of the same.

She says a SODELPA Government will review the e‑card public travel system and seek to provide Fiji with a more effective   and safer method of travel.

Ro Teimumu did not specify what this would be.
