Newly elected President of the Methodist Church in Fiji Reverend Dr Epineri Vakadewavosa

Newly elected President of the Methodist Church in Fiji Reverend Dr Epineri Vakadewavosa is already looking at issues to address with members of the church when he takes over the post from January next year.

Reverend Vakadewavosa says he is also looking forward to having the government representatives to speak to the church leaders about climate change and the Fiji Police Force to address some issues to the church leaders.

He adds that some of the things that is needed to be improved include the financial operations of the church office and the down sizing of the conference members.

He will take office on January 1st 2018.

Reverend Vakadewavosa served for six years as vice‑president of the South Pacific Association of Theological Schools from 2006‑2012 and is also currently a board member of the Bible Society of the South Pacific.

Vakadewavosa's induction as president will be decided in the next few days during the conference.

Deputy General Secretary of the Methodist Church in Fiji, Reverend Ili Vunisuwai was elected as the new General Secretary.

The Conference or the Bose Ko Viti will end on Friday.
