Reverend Dr. Epineri Vakadewavosa has been chosen as the next President of the Methodist Church in Fiji.
He will take office on January 1st 2018. Rev. Vakadewavosa served for six years as vice president of the South Pacific Association of Theological Schools from 2006 2012 and is also currently a board member of the Bible Society of the South Pacific.
Vakadewavosa's induction as president will be decided in the next few days during the conference.
He says he will be taking over from a very credible master who is the current President of the Methodist Church, Reverend Doctor Tevita Banivanua.
Deputy General Secretary of the Methodist Church in Fiji, Reverend Ili Vunisuwai was elected as the new General Secretary.
He will take over from Reverend Dr. Epineri Vakadewavosa who will become church president in January 2018.
