Hundreds of residents of Lakena Hill 1 in Nausori and nearby areas have raised serious concern as they are currently facing major water supply issues.
Lakena Hill 1 residents Nazmeen Bano says that they have had no water supply since 11am last Saturday and despite the works at the Waila Water Treatment plant over the weekend being completed yesterday there has been no restoration of water supply.
Bano says that the community is facing issues as the supply from water tanks by the Authority is not enough to cater for the community especially as students are returning to school.
Meanwhile, Water Authority has made an assurance that supply will be 100% fully restored by mid-day tomorrow to early Thursday morning.
They say that following the works carried out at the Waila Station, restoration is now at 90 percent and due to the high demand and consumption, restoration has slowed down a bit.
The Authority says that it takes time for the reservoir to be filled up before water is transported in the valves.
Members of the community in the larger Nausori Area are urged to contact Water Authority on toll free 1507 if they are facing water problems and the Authority says that they will cart water to affected areas.
