A resident of Nukuloa Ba has raised concerns that water supply to about 30 houses was disconnected three days ago without any public notice as they do not have any water meters.
Praveen Dutt said he had taken his water meter application form to the TLTB but he was directed to the advisory councillor of Ba.
He said the form was handed to the Advisory Councillor who advised him that they will get water connections within 2 months.
He said it has been nine months now and they are still waiting for their water meter.
Water Authority of Fiji CEO Opetaia Ravai said they will be reconnecting their water supply later today and they have given them one month’s time to get their water meters installed.
Ravai said they have been disconnected because they do not have any working water meters.
He said they were asked to get their consent from TLTB to connect the water meters on their land.
Ravai said this is the legal requirement.
He said they are still waiting for the documents and all the requirements to be met as their individual application.
Ravai said they need to speak to the advisory councillor if he is holding on to their forms.
