A group of residents and business executives residing in the Pacific Harbour have worked together since 2007 to fundraise for the renovation of the Pacific Harbour Police Community Post.
The renovations cost close to $20,000.
The residents yesterday handed over the newly renovated Pacific Harbour Community Post to the Commissioner of Police Sitiveni Qiliho.
The renovation works were largely possible through the support given by the executives of Dulux Paint, Resort Homes Fiji, Estate Management Services Limited and the Pearl South Pacific Resort and Spa.
Estate Management Services Limited Managing Director Seth Maharaj says since 2007, they have been fundraising to purchase a vehicle for the Community Post and along the way they changed their plans and chose to renovate and extend the current facilities as well as the bure adjacent to the building.
Qiliho says the Force’s goal in 2018 is to re-engage with the community through the Duavata Community Policing arm.
