Good news for those who frequently use the Kings Road as Fulton Hogan Hiways has started repairs to the 120 metre slip at Kasavu village.
Fulton Hogan Hiways Special Project Manager Eddie De Vries said the road collapsed last year because of poor drainage which resulted in a section that became water logged and slipped down the hill.
De Vries said to ensure minimal interruption to the traffic flow, the road was widened by three metres and two lanes were secured by moving the road away from the slip.
He said a large volume of earth is being brought from Naiborebore village to rebuild the collapse section.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution as a number of trucks will be carrying the earth from Naiborebore to Kasavu.
