For the very first time in Fiji, a renowned group from Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra - a musical institute in India will be performing a musical dance drama called Ram Lila.
The group is made up of 23 youths and their performance is based on the Hindu religious book Ramayana which is one of the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India.
The musical will be about one and a half hours long and is organised by the High Commission of India in Fiji.
The group has performed for all the Presidents and Prime Ministers of India to date.
This is also the institute’s 61st Ram Lila performance.
The Kendra is an institute which provides training and preserves traditional Indian Music and Dance, cultural heritage and values through the staging of Dance Dramas based on its rich Mythology, History and Folklore.
The group will be performing at the FMF Gymnasium at 5.30pm this afternoon.
Their next performance is in Labasa at Bulileka Shree Sanatan Dharam Ramleela Mandir at 7pm tomorrow.
They will be performing in Ba at 7pm at A.D Patel College on Sunday.
The groups last performance will start at 6.30pm at Girmit Centre in Lautoka next Tuesday.
