The Suva Market and Bus Terminal redevelopment plan is still in the consultation stages.
This has been confirmed by Suva City Council Special Administrator, Chandu Umaria who said that as soon as all the plans and consultations are completed, they will have meetings with stakeholders which is expected to take three months.
He said following that they will wait for cabinet’s approval.
The project is expected to cost $80 million and according to Umaria the funding for the project will not be a burden on the rate payers.
The project once completed is expected to have 60 bus bays, 150 car park spaces, two supermarkets, taxi base, retail outlets, international food court, air condition fish market and butcher shops.
