Education Minister Dr Mahendra Reddy is urging students to be fully prepared for school and to ensure that all educational necessities are ready for school.
Reddy says that students should talk to parents and guardians to brief them on their new study course, its requirements, targets and expectations.
He says students should attend school from the very first day to ensure all required processes in school are completed at the earliest, always be positive and to seek the support of teachers and peers as needed.
Reddy says parents need to be actively involved in their child’s education from the first day and to support them mentally, emotionally, morally so that they will be fully prepared for their educational demands.
He says parents can refer to the Parental Engagement Framework guideline which will be given out by the Ministry during the first week of school so as to learn about the calender of events of the school and to plan well in advance for important dates.
Reddy is also urging teachers to begin the new academic year enthusiastically and to ensure that all classrooms and other services are ready for the children to assist them smoothly from the transition from holidays to school life.
He says teachers need to make students feel comfortable and happy, fully support their needs without compromising the different demands of the returning students.
Reddy says teachers need to be prepared to set the tone of the first day.
He says the first day or week of school is extremely vital for all children as he wants all stakeholders to be prepared to render the support and guidance to the children to give them a start full of positivity and confidence.
