Education Minister Doctor Mahendra Reddy says the ministry is ensuring that the marking of the Year 7 national exam papers are done by the school teachers on time.
Doctor Reddy says while it is easy to communicate with schools that have internet connections, the ministry has to look at options like broadcasting information to those schools that cannot access emails.
He says they have sent the exam solutions and marking guide for Year 7 papers in password protected USBs to the school heads and the passwords will be broadcast to schools in remote areas after the exams come to an end.
Doctor Reddy says these new options are progressive and are being used for the benefit of the schools that do not have internet connectivity.
Some people have raised concern that this information can be hacked beforehand to get the marking guide and exam solutions.
However Doctor Reddy says they have taken this option after a full analysis and the password protected USBs with the marking guide will greatly assist the teachers to ensure that the exam results come out on time.
Students in Years 7, 9 and 11 now sit for national exams and the papers are prepared by the Education Ministry.
In the past, students from these year levels were sitting for papers prepared by their schools.
