A re-trial date has been set for foreign national Aiden Alec Hurtado who was acquitted by the Suva High Court for importing 20.5kg of cocaine into Fiji without lawful authority.
High Court Judge Justice Achala Wengappuli has set the new re-trail date from 22nd May to 9th June, 2017.
Justice Wengappuli has ordered the prison authorities to take Hurtado to CWM hospital for medical treatment.
The Fiji Court of Appeal earlier ordered that Hurtado's acquittal be set aside and has also ordered his case to be re‑tried before a differently constituted bench.
The case has been adjourned to the 14th of December.
