Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua will be installed as the Roko Tui Bau on Bau Island this Saturday.
The decision was made by the Yavusa Ratu after a series of meetings.
The title got vacant after the passing of Ratu Timoci’s brother, Ratu Joni Madraiwiwi.
Roko Tui Bau spokesperson Turaga na Masau, Ratu Kinijoji Toganivalu confirmed that Ratu Timoci has requested not to receive the bowl of kava as part of the installation.
Ratu Kinijoji says Ratu Timoci will be prayed upon by different pastors from different denominations.
The Roko Tui Bau’s installation ceremony will be held at 10am Saturday.
