Former SODELPA President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu and Ro Teimumu Kepa

Former SODELPA President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu says that he invited the Marama Na Roko Tui Dreketi, Ro Teimumu Kepa to be chief guest at the party’s AGM in Yaroi, Savusavu today however Legend FM News can confirm that Ro Teimumu is not present in the meeting.

While speaking at the SODELPA AGM in Yaroi, Ratu Naiqama said that he wanted Ro Teimumu to be there today so that he could perform the iTaukei traditional apology.

He says that there has been a lot said when the leadership changed in the party from Ro Teimumu to Sitiveni Rabuka.

Ratu Naiqama says that a lot of people pointed at Ratu Naiqama and his people that they hurt Ro Teimumu's leadership.

Ratu Naiqama says that one day SODELPA’s Sainiana Radrodro was crying saying that nothing was done in this regard.

He says that he then told Radrodro that it is his responsibility to perform the traditional apology and not Niko Nawaikula's, Mosese Bulitavu’s or anyone else’s.

He said that is why he also invited Ro Filipe Tuisawau.

Meanwhile there was some confusion amongst some SODELPA members before the party’s AGM started this morning.

This is regarding the nominations for the new office bearers.

Our reporter, Iva Danford says before the meeting started, there was an announcement made as some of the SODELPA supporters were filling in the wrong names of people that were nominees to the positions such as the President and the Vice President’s positions.

They were asked to wait for an explanation during the meeting.

Party members will be electing the new SODELPA President, Vice President and General Secretary today.

About 300 people are attending the meeting.

The members will also have a special traditional ceremony to thank outgoing SODELPA President, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu for serving the party.

We are currently trying to speak to Ro Teimumu Kepa on why she is not attending the SODELPA AGM in Yaroi.

Stay with us for developments.
