Ratu Meli Bolobolo laid to rest

The late Turaga na Tui Navitilevu Ratu Meli Bolobolo.

The late Turaga na Tui Navitilevu Ratu Meli Bolobolo, the paramount chief of Rakiraki who passed away on Friday after a short illness, was laid to rest today.

This was confirmed by his younger brother Ratu Akuila Bolobolo.

He passed away at his chiefly home at Uluda in the village of Rakiraki at the age of 51.

He was installed in 2005 as the high chief of Rakiraki replacing his father.

The late chief was a board member of the TLTB and served as Ra Provincial Council Chairman from 2007 to 2014.

The vanua of Ra which includes the districts of Nalawa, Saivou, Nakorotubu and Rakiraki presented their Reguregu this morning.

The Reguregu was led by the Turaga Tui Nalawa Ratu Epeli Niudamu.

The Ra Government Departments also attended the Reguregu.

The late Turaga Tui Navitilevu is survived by his wife Seini and his two sons and two daughters.
