Fiji’s Foreign Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola has held talks with Indonesia’s Foreign Minister on the possibility of extending free visa requirements for diplomatic passport holders of both nations.
Radio NZ reported that Indonesia’s Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi is looking forward to enhancing bilateral ties in economic areas and peacekeeping missions when Kubuabola attends the Asia Africa Conference in Jakarta as an observer.
The conference is a gathering of 77 developing countries for discussions on development and cooperation programmes.
Fiji and Vanuatu are among the countries with representatives.
Meanwhile, plans are in place to a hold a bilateral ministerial meeting in Fiji in August.
