The Raralevu Cemetery Committee confirms that they will also have firewood cremation available once the new gas crematorium in Raralevu starts operating.
Committee Project Manager, Ajay Prasad says they have already built a new dual firewood cremation facility.
He has clarified this after some people had said that they may not be able to afford over $500 for their loved ones to be cremated in the gas crematorium.
Prasad says firewood cremation will always be available and costs people $200.
Meanwhile, work on the gas crematorium has started at Raralevu and the crematorium will cost $900,000.
The project is fully funded from donations by the public.
The crematorium, which will be able to cater three to four funeral services a day is expected to be fully operational by the end of June.
The committee is currently working out how much people will have to pay for gas crematorium.
