22-year-old Meni Raitekiteki, who is charged with one count of rape of a 74-year-old woman will be sentenced on the 7th of next month.
Raitekiteki is also charged with one count of aggravated robbery and one count of giving false information.
Raitekiteki pleaded guilty to all the charges.
In the mitigation submission, his lawyer Ravinesh Goundar told the court that Raitekiteki is a young offender and upon seeking advice he saved the court’s time by pleading guilty.
Goundar also told the court that Raitekiteki cooperated with the police while giving his interview and never tried to escape from remand.
The incident happened on 18th August, 2015 in Nasinu.
