Nadi Weather Office Director, Ravind Kumar says people can expect the rainy weather currently being experienced across the country to start clearing on Thursday night into Friday morning.

The Nadi Weather Office has also confirmed that a trough of low pressure remains slow moving over Fiji.

It says that another trough of low pressure is expected to drift towards the Group from the northwest later tonight.

The Weather Office says that people can expect occasional rain, heavy at times with few squally thunderstorms over the Lau and Lomaiviti group.

It says rain will become frequent and heavy from tomorrow.

Elsewhere, people can expect cloudy periods with some showers with possible thunderstorms especially in the afternoon or evening.

The Weather Office says that showers will increase to rain and become frequent and heavy from tonight.

Localised heavy rain may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.
