Rain expected in most parts of the country

Isolated thunderstorms and heavy rain is expected in most parts of the country which can cause flooding in low lying areas.

The Nadi Weather Office said that heavy rain is expected in the interior parts and eastern parts of Viti Levu with southeast winds which causes rough seas.

Rain is also expected to continue from tomorrow with afternoon showers and thunderstorms in Navua, Suva and Nausori while Nadi, Lautoka and Ba will have occasional showers and a few thunderstorms.

In the northern division, rain and thunderstorms are expected tomorrow night including Labasa, Savusavu and some showers for Rotuma.

Meanwhile, a landslide has partly destroyed a two bedroom house at Buiduna road in Nausori early this morning.

A witness Shalini Prasad told Fijivillage that the family was lucky to escape the incident.
