Police have confirmed that a raid conducted in the interior of Nasaua, Nadi on Thursday morning resulted in the seizure of more than 6,000 plants of marijuana.
The raid was conducted by officers from the Nadi Police Station.
Police say a man originally from Taveuni was arrested during the raid where the plants ranging from 10cm – 2m, more than 900 bullet size packs and a garbage bag of dried leaves were seized.
The man has been charged with one count of unlawful possession of illicit drugs and one count of unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs.
He will appear in Nadi Magistrates Court tomorrow.
