SODELPA Leader Sitiveni Rabuka was part of the welcoming committee when Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama commissioned the Self Help Solar Project in Drekeniwai Village in Vanua Levu.
Rabuka shook hands with the Prime Minister when he arrived at the village and he then presented the whale’s tooth in the formal welcome ceremony.
Meanwhile, Bainimarama says that the success of development signifies the government’s financial growth.
He says that profits made by the government is injected into development to improve the livelihood of the people.
Bainimarama adds that a major focus is to ensure that the elderly and disabled received pensions, children are well cared for and the poor are assisted with their needs.
The Prime Minister says that no exception will be tolerated by the government on developers who operate on a basis of just getting the job done.
He says that so far 95% of schools that were affected by Cyclone Winston have now been rebuilt.
