New SODELPA Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka has stated his intention of making SODELPA a party that is inclusive of people of other ethnicities.
Rabuka said the party’s constitution clearly states that they must work with people from other ethnicities and that this is the direction he is going to take.
He said while SODELPA focuses on the interests of indigenous people, it is also mindful of the interests of others.
Rabuka believes that this is the way forward for SODELPA.
He said he would not make any immediate changes within SODELPA because he does not have any right to do so.
The former Prime Minister has admitted that his previous party suffered because he enjoyed a lot of freedom as the party leader and president.
Rabuka has also clearly stated that he intends to have a meeting with the leaders in government and also the Police and RFMF.
He said if he is not granted an audience with these leaders it would not be his fault.
Rabuka is also willing to reach out to other parties in the country.
