It is now finally official for the couple Apisai and Timaima Daveta from Naisilisili village in Yasawa after they were able to receive their marriage certificate that was provided by the services of the REACH program.
Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Mereseini Vuniwaqa was also part of this civil marriage and she congratulated Apisai and Timaima ahead of their future endeavors.
Vuniwaqa says that marriage is intended by God to be a vibrant, dynamic state of ever‑deepening love and growth.
Apisai Daveta who is a staff member at Safelanding says that they did not have time to tie the knot due to work commitments and since they are far from the mainland adding that the concern for them was transport and its expenses.
Vuniwaqa reiterated that through the REACH mobile service delivery they have been able to provide government services to remote areas across Yasawa and previously in other parts of Fiji and those who may not be able to access these services compared to those living in outskirts of towns and cities.
The REACH team is expected to be in the Yasawa group of Islands for another week before they complete their outreach program.
