The REACH program has received a major boost of US$2.49 million which has been funded by the Government of Japan.
REACH which stands for Rights, Empowerment and Cohesion for Rural and Urban Fijians will undergo the three year program which will be implemented by UNDP in partnership with the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation.
While speaking during the signing of the partnership agreement this afternoon Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said the REACH program will target women, youth and people in rural and urban informal settlements.
The project also aims to strengthen sustainable democratic governance by promoting peace building, social cohesion and inclusiveness through raising awareness on equal human rights and creating better access to provision of social services to the poor and those in rural communities.
