The Reserve Bank of Fiji has called the incorrect hoisting of the Fiji Flag in front of the Reserve Bank of Fiji building on Thursday as an unfortunate error and has accepted full responsibility.

A concerned citizen who took a photo of the Fiji Flag hoisted upside down at the Reserve Bank of Fiji building has shared the photo with Fijivillage.

When asked about the incident, the Deputy Governor Esala Masitabua says they were aware of the incident and they apologise unreservedly for this oversight.

He says the Bank prides itself on a culture of dynamism and excellence and this has been an extremely disappointing occurrence.

Masitabua says they will definitely use this as an impetus to drive home attention to detail and taking pride in doing our work well in all respects.

He says the Reserve Bank always strives to embrace these challenges and apologise sincerely for the oversight.
