The long standing relationship between Fiji and Britain will be marked today at the British High Commission through the celebration of the Queens 92nd birthday.
British High Commissioner to Fiji, Melanie Hopkins says that the celebration will also mark over six decades of the Queen's service to the Commonwealth.
Hopkins says that the bilateral relationships between the two countries has now seen more then 1,400 men and women from Fiji serving in the British Army.
She adds that the UK has also strengthen their presence in Fiji and has double their presence in the region and they working hand in hand with Fiji and the region in reducing carbon emission.
Hopkins also adds that in the event they will also celebrate the listing of Fiji’s Green Bond which is the first sovereign green bond to be listed by a developing country in the world.
The President, Jioji Konrote will be the chief guest at the Queens birthday celebration later today.
