Local organisations that have embraced quality in productivity have increased their profitability, and have become competitive and more sustainable.
This was highlighted by the Fiji National University Chancellor Ikbal Jannif during the 22nd National Convention on Quality in Nadi today.
While addressing the participants of the Convention, Jannif says the theme of the Convention is designed to motivate all sections of the community towards the continuous improvement of Quality and Productivity and also ensuring its sustainability.
He says all social partners have a role to play in driving,
leading, supporting and creating an environment for productivity and above all breaking down barriers that hinder productivity and growth.
Janniff says that the challenges and opportunities ahead of them makes it even more important to uplift Fijian productivity performance.
The Director of the National Training and Productivity Centre Dr Isimeli Tagicakiverata says the convention has for the past 21 years has become an important event for them as it has provided a forum for discussion and learning on the practical aspects of improving productivity through the use of techniques like Quality Control Circles.
A total of 10 Organizations will participate at this year’s Competitive level Category.
Out of these 10 organisations, 5 organisations will be participating for the first time at this National Convention on Quality.
