Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho has acknowledged the support and cooperation of the family of the 8th suspect who was wanted for his alleged involvement in the carjacking case in Lautoka.
The suspect was arrested last night at his Lami home.
A team of officers from Lautoka had earlier approached the family of the 23-year-old suspect, requesting their assistance as he was wanted for arrest and had been evading Police for over a month.
Family members immediately contacted the team of officers the moment the suspect made contact with them.
The suspect was arrested by the team in Lami and was escorted back to the Lautoka Police Station where he is currently being questioned.
Qiliho has expressed his gratitude adding while it may have been a difficult step to take, the right decision was made.
