Members of the public will have to submit their application and documentary evidence of their earnings to the Water Authority of Fiji in order to get free water next year.
Water Authority of Fiji CEO Opetaia Ravai said they will determine who qualifies to receive free water once they get the peoples’ application and their pay slips.
Ravai said families who are eligible for free water will get 250 litres per day to cater for five members of the family.
He said they will let the public know when the can start making their application for free water.
Meanwhile, a record budget of $239 million has been allocated to the Water Authority of Fiji and the government will provide 91,250 litres of water free of charge per year from next year to Fijian households earning less than a total annual income of $30,000.
